Human Dignity: The Power of Possibility was the title of a pro-life talk last night in Madison, given by Ryan Bomberger of The Radiance Foundation at the Bishop O’Connor Center in Madison. See photo, above.
Pro-Life Wisconsin partnered with The Radiance Foundation for a billboard currently in the parking lot of a Madison Planned Parenthood, and also for 13 billboards in the city of Milwaukee last December.
Ryan’s life story, which he courageously shares, puts a face on the “exceptions” cases — babies conceived in rape or incest, or those who would be aborted due to fetal abnormality or a perceived threat to the mother’s life. Ryan is the face of so many who are not with us today, due to the lie of “choice.”
Ryan has a unique perspective of the innate nature of Purpose. His biological mother was raped yet chose to go through 9 months of pregnancy, choosing to give him Life. He was adopted as a baby and grew up in a loving, multi-racial Christian family of 15, which gave him a great appreciation for diversity. Ten of the thirteen children were adopted in this remarkable family. He was once considered “black and unwanted” but instead was adopted and loved.
Today, he is an Emmy® Award-winning Creative Professional who has made an unexpected impact in the pro-life movement with the bold TooManyAborted.com billboard/web campaign. The Radiance Foundation, a non-profit founded by Ryan and his wife Bethany, created and directs the campaign and caused a media frenzy with massive coverage from The New York Times, the Associated Press, Fox News, ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, our very own Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Capital Times and seemingly the entire blogosphere. The extensive media attention enabled The Radiance Foundation, and Ryan’s personal story of adoption, to reach millions. Working in conjunction with noted national civil rights leaders like Catherine Davis, Walter Hoye, and Dr. Alveda King (niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.), Ryan is involved in national efforts to expose Planned Parenthood and defund the killing machine.
Ryan discussed his life story, the work The Radiance Foundation does around the country, and discussed how abortion and Planned Parenthood destroy human dignity and possibility.
Our deepest gratitude to Vigil for Life of Madison and the Diocese of Madison for co-sponsoring the event. If you have the opportunity to hear Ryan speak, we strongly recommend it!
