Gwen Moore honored by PPFA for her commitment to the eugenicist, racist “non-profit”

Monday, July 25th, 2011

Last week, Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Milwaukee) was honored for her efforts to protect taxpayer funding of the racist, eugenicist baby-killing machine known as Planned Parenthood Federation of America. PPFA awarded Moore the “Champion for Women’s Health Award.”

Read about Moore’s award here from the Milwaukee Courier.

Interestingly enough, you can’t find mention of the 2011 recipients of the annual award on PPFA’s website, nor in news outlets other than the Courier. Did the flap over last year’s recipient, Nancy Pelosi, result in a bit too much negative press for the abortion giant?

During last year’s ceremony, Moore and Pelosi were giggly as school girls about PPFA’s work [and you thought only serial killers would giggle over an organization that makes millions from aborting other girls]:

Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Milwaukee) added comic relief to the formal presentation portion of the evening, introducing Speaker Pelosi and joking about how she was proud to be one of “Nancy’s girls.” As Pelosi took the stage, Moore even blew her a kiss.

During floor debate earlier this year on taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, Moore stated that abortion was better for unplanned babies than a life “eating Ramen noodles” or “mayonnaise sandwiches.”

Moore, who is black, is blissfully (willfully?) ignorant of the population-decreasing effect Planned Parenthood has on the black community in Wisconsin. In Wisconsin, 6.2% of the population is black yet 24% of all state abortions are on African-Americans, which is 4x the representation. Read more here.

Milwaukee abortuary consent form: “Women may die…”

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Affiliated Medical Services, one of Wisconsin’s four abortuaries, the only late-term abortuary in the state and the only non-Planned Parenthood abortuary, has their consent forms available for download on their website. Makes it that much quicker to get women and cash in. Nefarious late-term abortionist Dennis Christiansen performs abortions at Affiliated.

The general consent form [PDF] states, twice, that some women may die as a result of an abortion, so please sign away your or your family’s right to sue:

And oops! Don’t forget to bring your cash. Affiliated has a handy calculator on their website, so you can estimate exactly how much an abortion costs.

As Abby Johnson discusses in her book Unplanned, and reiterated this week — Planned Parenthood and other abortuaries have a business model. Businesses need money to operate. Abortion is big money and the most lucrative part of their services. The movie Blood Money outlines clearly how abortion is a largely unregulated cash industry. Carol Everett, a former abortion chain owner, discussed how large amounts of cash are pocketed by abortion doctors and abortion facility owners. That trend apparently reaches all the way to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, as PPFA is missing millions of taxpayer dollars.

How Wisconsin’s elected representatives voted on defunding Planned Parenthood

Sunday, February 20th, 2011

Photo, above
: From a Planned Parenthood email sent Friday bemoaning the vote to defund the organization. They sure don’t look happy about standing with Planned Parenthood.

On Friday, February 20, the U.S. House of Representatives voted on an amendment offered by pro-life Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) to deny all federal funds, through September 30, to Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its 102 affiliates. The amendment passed and will be taken up by the Senate soon. As Jill Stanek and others have noted, the U.S. Senate is lacking on pro-lifers and is still controlled by Democrats, so it remains to be seen if the Pence Amendment will make it through the Senate. To see the roll call vote, click here.

In the House, Wisconsin is represented by:
Representative Paul Ryan (R – 01), Representative Tammy Baldwin (D – 02), Representative Ron Kind (D – 03), Representative Gwen Moore (D – 04), Representative F. James (Jim) Sensenbrenner, Jr. (R – 05), Representative Tom Petri (R – 06), Representative Sean P. Duffy (R – 07) and Representative Reid J. Ribble (R – 08).

The following Representatives voted to defund Planned Parenthood: Ryan, Sensenbrenner, Petri, Duffy and Ribble.

The following Representatives voted NOT to defund Planned Parenthood: Baldwin, Kind and Moore. All three Representatives consistently receive 100% approval ratings from Planned Parenthood of America’s federal PAC.

Rep. Gwen Moore’s remarked, during the debate about the amendment the night before, that abortion is better for a poor baby than eating Ramen noodles. Thanks to the Internet, that remark will live on in infamy, as it has already earned her quite the dubious reputation.

In the Senate, Wisconsin is represented by Ron Johnson (R) and Herb Kohl (D). As with Wisconsin’s three Democrats in the House of Representatives, Kohl also receives a 100% approval rating from Planned Parenthood.

Still good to be bad?

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

Apparently it’s still good to be bad… A person whose email address shall remain anonymous received the following password after registering for Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s emails:

This would be chuckle-worthy… if Planned Parenthood wasn’t in the business of killing babies, making a joke of parent-child relationships, denying the humanity of the preborn, and so on. But obviously those who are in charge of generating passwords at Planned Parenthood are amused by their badness.

Would you eat dinner on Planned Parenthood placemats?

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

Today on its Facebook page, Planned Parenthood Federation of America highlighted an “educational” effort by Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota [PPMNS].

PPMNS is encouraging the use of… Planned Parenthood placemats for the dinner table.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s 2007-08 annual report lists 305,310 abortions performed in 2007. That’s 305,310 children who should be eating dinner with their parents.

Add this to the list of tasteless things Planned Parenthood has done – such as gift cards to be used for abortions, its “Choice on Earth” Christmas campaign, and so on.

Do parents really need Planned Parenthood’s suggestions on how to communicate with their children? Parents’ skin should crawl at the prospect of Planned Parenthood at the dinner table. Would you lose your appetite when you saw something red?

Planned Parenthood’s effort to increase communication between parents and children is ironic at best. Planned Parenthood’s desire for parental communication ends at the doorstep of its abortion facilities. Planned Parenthood has consistently made headlines for covering up purported statutory rape, opposing parental notification laws and pushing birth control to teens and preteens.

Raising money off Pro-Life Wisconsin didn’t go so well for Planned Parenthood?

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

On July 28 and 29, Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, was the keynote speaker for two fundraisers for Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Tom Barrett. Gov. Jim Doyle, a Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin lifetime achievement award recipient, also attended.

After we announced our protests of the Planned Parenthood fundraisers, Teri Huyck, president of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, sent an email to supporters, encouraging them to make a donation in Pro-Life Wisconsin’s name. (To view a slideshow with Pro-Life Wisconsin’s pictures from the protests, click here.)

Teri Huyck celebrates the baby-killing work her organization does by tastelessly declaring, “It’s good to be bad!” If the thousands of babies killed annually by Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin could talk, bet they would wish she wasn’t so bad.

Huyck also claimed Planned Parenthood would send Pro-Life Wisconsin a note “letting them know a donation has been made in their name to Planned Parenthood and in support of our events.”

Not surprisingly, we’re still waiting on Huyck’s note. It’s been three months to the day. Perhaps it got lost in the mail. Or perhaps Planned Parenthood wasn’t able to raise $5,000 in 24 hours and Huyck can’t admit it?

Why is Planned Parenthood worried about Wisconsin, so much they brought in Cecile Richards? Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin receives a LOT of money from the state of Wisconsin, courtesy of the taxpayers –  $12 million per year in state and federal funding. PPWI’s 2008 financial records list $10 million in assets and a $20 million yearly budget. $8.6 million of that budget is spent on employee salaries. In 2008, PPWI had enough money to pay off a $400,000 loan owed to abortionist Dennis Christensen. Once again, it’s all about the money.

As a sidenote: Planned Parenthood claimed, via Facebook, that 300 people attended three fundraisers they held for Barrett.

Those numbers don’t impress us much… considering the U.S. Census Bureau puts Wisconsin’s population at 5.65 million.

We’re not impressed with Planned Parenthood’s numbers. Why?

- Our annual auction dinner, held every fall, is attended by more than 500 people;
- Our spring awards dinner is attended by nearly 100 people;
- Hundreds throughout Wisconsin observe Roe v. Wade with prayer in their communities;
- Our Pro-Life Wisconsin affiliates throughout the state mobilize to march in parades, staff fair booths and pray and sidewalk counsel outside Wisconsin’s abortion facilities;
- Every year, the number of high school students who apply for our Sharon Schumer Memorial Scholarship increases;
- Thousands signed our pro-life petition to keep abortion out of the Madison Surgery Center;
- Our Victory Fund PAC endorsed a record 96 candidates for political office this year, showing that more and more candidates are embracing the total protection message;
- Many of Planned Parenthood’s count of 300 people were their own staff members!

What does this mean? Pro-life is winning! And you’re helping us win – through your prayers, financial support, activism and volunteering.

Executive education with UW-Madison and former president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

For $2,495, you could hear Faye Wattleton, former President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, speak at a University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business “Executive Education” summit on October 1. View the entire schedule here (Wattleton’s presentation is second-to-last, at the bottom of the page).

The mission of the University of Wisconsin’s School of Business Executive Education program is to, “Help companies improve their business performance through practical education and applied knowledge.”

The UW School of Business Executive Education program consistently receives high marks from the London-based Financial Times, which ranks business school program all over the world. The UW School of Business is ranked at #67 in the world by the Financial Times.

University of Wisconsin School of Business graduates do well in the world – in 2005, UW joined Harvard as the most common university attended by S&P 500 CEOs. More than 1,050 UW-Madison alumni serve as CEO of a company and nearly 16,000 hold an executive management position, according to the UW School of Business website.

With all of this hard-earned prestige, is throwing Planned Parenthood of America into the mix a good idea?

None of these 1,050 alumni CEOs were available?

As Wattleton’s autobiography on her website indicates, she did not attend nor receive a degree from UW-Madison.

While Wattleton’s resumé may be impressive, why is it more impressive than any of the 16,000 UW graduates in executive management positions?

UW-Madison’s entanglement and fascination with the abortion industry is well-documented. You can read more here and here and here.

It is unfortunate that potential alumni speakers were passed over in favor of an affiliation with Planned Parenthood, an organization that has killed so many future Badgers.
